Vail Valley Rafting Safety & Gear Checklist

A great rafting trip starts with good prep. Here’s a simple local checklist so you feel confident before you arrive.

Safety Basics

  • Listen to your guide’s safety talk
  • Stay seated in rapids unless told otherwise
  • Keep your feet up if you swim
  • Paddle together — teamwork makes the raft stable

Our guides are trained in swiftwater rescue and first aid, and we choose river sections based on real-time conditions to keep trips safe and fun.

Gear We Provide

  • raft, paddles, helmet, PFD
  • splash gear or wetsuits when needed
  • professional guide team

What You Should Bring

  • quick-dry clothes
  • secure shoes that can get wet
  • sunscreen + sunglasses strap
  • water bottle
  • warm layer for after the trip

Good to Know

Colorado river days can start cool and warm up fast. Layering is the move.
