Spring & Early Summer

This is the prime season to explore the full trail network. From relaxing walks to full-day treks, you’ll find trailheads for Buckskin Pass, West Maroon Pass, and more. Shuttle reservations are required during peak hours.

Maroon Bells Access: What You Need to Know

Shuttle Reservations
Access by personal vehicle is restricted during peak season between 8 AM and 5 PM. Shuttle service departs from Aspen Highlands with timed entry reservations available via the Maroon Bells reservation website.
Shuttle Runs May 23 through October 31.
Private Vehicle Access
Permitted before 8 AM or after 5 PM with an advance parking permit. Limited quantities are available—book early.


E-Bike & Hiking Access
For the more adventurous, e-bike and traditional bike access is allowed along the road. Hiking to the Bells is also permitted via the Maroon Creek Trail. No reservations required to bike the road.

To protect this fragile alpine environment, a managed access program is in place.

Directions to Maroon Bells
From Aspen, take Maroon Creek Road west for approximately 10 miles. The road is closed to general vehicles between 8 AM and 5 PM (May–October) and requires shuttle access during those hours.
