Glenwood Springs
Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Glenwood Springs is a beloved resort town best known for its soothing geothermal hot springs. Set at the confluence of the Colorado and Roaring Fork Rivers, it’s a hub for some of the best whitewater rafting, fishing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding in Colorado.
The scenic drive into town takes you through breathtaking Glenwood Canyon, home to the thrilling class III Shoshone Rapids—a favorite among whitewater enthusiasts. The canyon also features the iconic Hanging Lake, renowned for its vibrant turquoise waters and ranked as one of Colorado’s must-do hikes.
Outdoor adventures abound beyond the river. Explore the canyon by bike, saddle up for horseback rides on our private 6,000-acre Bair Ranch, take a UTV tour through rugged backcountry, or ride the gondola to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park for a full day of family fun.

Vail / Beaver Creek
Vail, Beaver Creek, and the surrounding areas are world-renowned for delivering unforgettable, year-round adventures. While visitors flock here for the world-class skiing in winter, many return to experience Vail’s sun-drenched summers filled with outdoor activities for every type of traveler. Whether you’re vacationing as a family, a couple, or a group of friends, options abound—from horseback riding and championship golf to hiking among wildflowers, downhill mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and scenic Jeep tours to awe-inspiring alpine vistas.
Adventure Outdoors has proudly served the Vail Valley for over 30 years through its flagship brand, Lakota Guides. Originally known for premier river excursions on the Eagle and Upper Colorado Rivers, Lakota Guides expanded in 2015 to offer a wide variety of land-based adventures, including horseback rides, ATV tours, Jeep expeditions, and sporting clay experiences.
Buena Vista / Salida
The Arkansas River Valley—known as the “Heart of the Rockies”—is one of the premier whitewater rafting destinations in the United States. Originating near Leadville, the Arkansas River winds its way south past Buena Vista and Salida, carving through 21,586 acres of unspoiled canyons, rivers, and forested backcountry. This remarkable landscape, designated as Browns Canyon National Monument in 2015, offers breathtaking views of both the river valley and the towering Collegiate Peaks.
The Collegiate Peaks Wilderness is named for the region’s iconic fourteeners—mountains over 14,000 feet tall—many of which are named after esteemed universities, such as Mt. Oxford, Mt. Harvard, Mt. Yale, Mt. Princeton, and Mt. Columbia. Our base camp sits along the famed “Highway of the Fourteeners,” with commanding views of ten of these majestic summits. The surrounding wilderness is rich with alpine lakes, panoramic overlooks, and the impressive 13,000-foot Buffalo Peaks. Venture off the Collegiate Peaks Scenic Byway to uncover even more of this extraordinary high-country playground.
