The Roaring Fork River is one of Colorado’s most scenic and versatile trout fisheries. Originating near Independence Pass above Aspen and flowing through Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs, the Roaring Fork offers diverse water and year-round fishing opportunities.

The lower Roaring Fork features strong brown and rainbow trout populations, productive freestone water, excellent summer dry-fly opportunities, and deep runs ideal for nymphing. Large sections of the river are perfectly suited for float fishing. Consistent flows influenced by the Fryingpan River help create reliable fishing conditions throughout the season.

The Eagle River is one of Colorado’s most productive freestone trout rivers and one of the best float fishing opportunities in the Vail Valley. The Eagle River is one of Colorado’s most productive freestone trout rivers and one of the best float fishing opportunities in the Vail Valley. Flowing from the high alpine headwaters near Tennessee Pass through Minturn, Avon, Edwards, Eagle, and Gypsum, the Eagle River provides exceptional access and consistent action.

The Eagle River is known for its healthy wild brown and rainbow trout populations, abundant pocket water and riffle structure ideal for nymphing, strong terrestrial dry-fly fishing during the summer, and aggressive fall brown trout action. Its forgiving nature makes it excellent water for beginner and intermediate anglers. Because of its structure and gradient, the river is perfectly suited for float fishing, allowing anglers to cover miles of productive water and fish multiple seams, deep runs, and undercut banks in a single outing.
