1 Hour Horseback Ride

Ride Into the Heart of the Rockies
There’s no better way to connect with the land than from the back of a horse — and our One-Hour Horseback Ride at Bair Ranch offers the perfect introduction to Colorado’s rich ranching heritage and high-country scenery. Located in the heart of Glenwood Canyon, this gentle, scenic ride is designed for first-time riders and young adventurers.
You’ll begin your ride at our working ranch, where our friendly wranglers will pair you with a well-trained horse that matches your comfort level. After a brief orientation and saddle-up, you’ll head out onto a beautiful trail that winds through open meadows, aspen groves, and red rock ridges, with sweeping views of the Colorado River and Glenwood Canyon all around you.
Along the way, your guide will share stories about the land, local wildlife, and the history of Bair Ranch, which dates back to 1919. It’s a peaceful, inspiring experience that moves at a relaxed pace — ideal for families, couples, and anyone looking to unplug and reconnect with the landscape.
Bair Ranch isn’t just scenic — it’s authentic. As one of Colorado’s oldest privately owned and continuously operating ranches, it offers a genuine glimpse into life in the high country. Our one-hour ride is intentionally approachable, giving guests just enough time to enjoy the scenery, bond with their horse, and build confidence in the saddle — all without committing to a longer ride.

Boots Are Your Best Friend but any closed-toe shoe with a sturdy sole are best. Sandals or flip-flops are a no-go your feet and your horse will thank you.
